PICCADILLY CIRCUS : MILLENNIUM COUNTDOWN - The most famous advertising site in the world now has an ESPRIT MegaVision module displaying the number of days until the new Millennium. At Midnight every day the number changes automatically.

More O'Ferrall use 6 metre long MegaVision panelsCLEARCHANNEL/MORE O'FERRALL - The UK's premier roadside billboard company uses 6-metre long MegaVision panels for advertiser reinforcement messages on most of their prime backlit sites throughout the UK. Each display has its own cellphone and modem and is updated centrally from ESPRIT'S Programming Centre in London. Customers benefit from this system by having the flexibility to program live messages to several cities simultaneously. The system was used to great effect by ITV to promote their Champions League coverage amongst programmes.

UK PASSPORT OFFICES / HOME OFFICE IMMIGRATION / MAFF / DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SECURITY / THE HOME OFFICE / THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE - All main entrances and public waiting areas now have ESPRIT Moving Message Displays to advise the Public of waiting times and new services.

ROYAL NAVY / NATO - Use ELECTRONIC NOTICEBOARDS for welcome boards and messaging systems on all their main bases (including Portsmouth) in canteens and at entrance gates.

PEOPLES PHONE - 200+ retail sites many in prime locations, all have at least 1 x 32 character-to-view multi-colour LED animated display promoting special offers and company slogans. Initially signs were reprogrammed by area managers with infra-red remote handsets, but approval was given for Nationwide Network for 'live' central control - Esprit designed bespoke software to enable a PC to ring each branch out of hours, access the sign via a simple modem, squirt new messages to it in under 10 seconds and receive confirmation of successful transmission.

MGM/VIRGIN CINEMAS - Shaftesbury Avenue is the first site to have Esprit displays - 20 character single-line green LED units above the screen entrances and 8-line x 32 character green ELECTRONIC NOTICEBOARDS in the ticket office.

ABBEY NATIONAL - Bespoke ELECTRONIC NOTICEBOARDS in branches in the Midlands for customer updates and interest rates on various savings and loans accounts.

SAINSBURY'S / SAVACENTRE - Customer information counters at entrance to superstores now have a Moving Message Display built-in to the fascia approximately 6 feet above the floor giving out details of new services and layout changes.

OLD ORLEANS - This Scottish & Newcastle chain of 'fun' pub-restaurants now have a new promotional system in most sites. The system comprises of a six-segment multi-coloured lightbox attatched to a 4-inch high x 4 digit number display via a processor and switch unit developed by Esprit. Whenever the manager decides to stimulate turnover he pushes the switch and the lightbox flickers round and eventually stops at one of the six numbers in either a random or controlled manner. Five of the numbers represent a different promotion, say half price bitter for 10 minutes or free crisps with every Gordons Gin, while the remaining one says "Sorry no prize this time!!". If a prize is won then the digital numbers count down by the second from 10 minutes to zero gradually and visibly increasing the pressure on the punters to hurry up and take advantage.

POUNDSTRETCHER DISCOUNT STORES - Use Moving Message Displays to promote upstairs/downstairs offers.

CO-OP TRAVEL AGENTS - Use Esprit Digital Rate Boards in over 30 branches to display buy and sell currency rates for 18 different countries next to a colour screenprint of each national flag. The time and date is also shown and all text is programmed by a simple hand-held infra-red remote control.

GUINNESS - Use Moving Message Displays in Cash-and-Carries to promote specials.

LEX / WARWICK WRIGHT - Main car dealers advertise new and second-hand models.

OTHER SERIOUS RETAILERS & LEISURE OPERATORS - Over 20,000 units to date.

Staff Information
WH SMITH - Have a network of single-line multi-colour moving displays in their principal warehouse in Swindon giving out 'wave-picking' details to all members of staff. This enables them see at a glance which products are needed for each of their retail stores. Esprit designed special software to link their existing information system to the signs.

LITTLEWOODS - Have a network of Moving Message Displays in their Home Shopping Catalogue Telephone Operations Rooms informing staff of general company developments and other specific messages which would otherwise be difficult to convey to so many people at the same time who are wearing headsets.

MACRO ELECTRONICS - One of the largest trade suppliers of electronics in the UK use Electronic Noticeboards in their Telephone Operations Room as Littlewoods.

They also use ELECTRONIC NOTICEBOARDS throughout their Logistics Department to keep track of transportation timings and problems as well as in the main company restaurant to convey menu changes and specials.
